The Arcadia was taking on a cargo of timber at Hamelin Bay when a north-westerly gale blew the barque aground at about 9 am on 25 April 1900. The underwriters declared it a wreck. The cargo was transhipped and the wreck and all its gear was auctioned on 13 May. The Arcadia was purchased by MC Davies. The wreck must have been refloated and put on a mooring because it was driven ashore during a gale on 22 July and became a total wreck. The Katinka and Lövspring were wrecked in the same gale on 22nd.
